
The painter José Araújo de Faria was born on 17 February 1958, in Vila Nova de Famalicão, Portugal, where he has lived to this day.
He began his work as a plastic artist in 1980. He is a member of the National Society of Fine Arts - Lisbon, of the Árvore - Cooperative of Artistic Activities and the Académie des Arts-Sciences-Lettres, Paris, where, in October 2022, he was honored with a silver medal for his opus.
He paints in oil and acrylic on canvas and on tiles. His works can be found in museums and private collections in a number of countries.
